Job Summary:
The SBC Consultant will support social and behavioral change initiatives for promoting demand generation and improving immunization/primary health care services. Responsibilities include strengthening the Social and Behavioral Change (SBC) Cell, coordinating SBC activities, developing and updating action plans, providing technical assistance, and monitoring implementation through trackers. The role involves coordinating with the government and partners for program rollout, supporting capacity building in interpersonal communication, community awareness, and community engagement, and providing technical assistance for integrated services (Immunization, MCH, Nutrition, etc). Candidates should have an advanced degree in social sciences or a relevant field, with at least 5 years of experience in communication for development or related areas. Strong report writing, coordination, and IT skills are essential, along with proficiency in English and knowledge of the local language. Travel to merged districts and Southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is required.
Job Description:
The SBC Consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Immunization Officer and will perform the following key tasks:
- Strengthen the coordination mechanism through the SBC Cell to coordinate Social & Behavioral Change activities with all key stakeholders and develop action points.
- Update the Immunization/PHC SBC activities action plan.
- Conduct regular coordination meetings with all stakeholders on SBC.
- Continue providing technical assistance to DoH for SBC activities.
- Develop/Update SBC activities plan and monitor its implementation through a tracker.
- Effectively coordinate with the government and partners for the rollout of SBC activities.
- Provide technical assistance for Supplementary Immunization Activities and for New Vaccine Introduction (HPV) under SBC.
- Support capacity building of frontline workers on interpersonal communication skills.
- Monitor the implementation of SBC and other ISD activities.
Language:
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Knowledge of Urdu and Pashto is an asset.
Travel:
- Willingness to travel to far-flung districts, especially Southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Newly Merged Districts.
