Job Overview:
MicroMerger (Pvt.) Ltd, a leading consultancy firm, is seeking a seasoned Finance and Accounting Manager for its Islamabad office. The Finance and Accounting Manager will oversee all financial and accounting activities related to the project. The Finance Manager will responsible for managing the financial control function of the company and to upkeep the comprehensive day to day function in all areas but not limited to budgeting, payroll, accounting, treasury, payments, taxation and reporting.
This role requires a highly skilled professional with a comprehensive understanding of financial management, compliance, and reporting, ensuring alignment with organisation objectives and regulatory requirements. The incumbent shall be responsible for following key strategic functions, accountability and related duties/ tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Oversee the preparation and management of project budgets, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of the organisation.
- Monitor and control project expenditures, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the efficient and effective management of financial resources.
- Develop financial KPIs to be monitored as a part of management reporting for business control and decision making.
- Prepare budget variance analysis at regular intervals.
- Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends.
- Liaison with department managers on financial issues impacting departmental and company budgets.
- Assist operations team in carrying out appraisals of investment proposals.
- Manage contractual arrangements and ensure timely payments to the business partners and vendors.
- Provide financial advice and support to project managers and senior management.
- Accounting Operations:
- Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular reconciliation of accounts, ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
- Maintains reporting of Fixed Assets in system (depreciation, reconciliation).
- Oversees Payroll disbursement.
- Liaison with the tax advisers to ensure withholding tax statements and annual tax return of the company are prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
- Keep abreast of new accounting regulations.
- Ensure taxes are withheld and deposited in Government Treasury as per prevailing Tax Laws.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation on ERP and have knowledge of managing ERP.
- Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for all transactions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards, including tax laws and audit requirements.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization’s financial assets.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, to senior management and stakeholders.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop financial forecasts and projections to support long-term planning.
- Team Management:
- Lead and manage the finance and accounting team, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the finance team and with other departments.
- Assist and support the Senior Managers.
- Maintain banking relationships
Working Conditions:
- Frequent travel to other provincial or district offices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Advanced University degree (Master’s or higher) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional accounting qualifications (CA, ACCA, CPA) are highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible professional experience in financial management and accounting within an international organization and/or large corporation.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in financial software and systems.
